Killing of five demonstrators in Mosul, northern Iraq

Police announced the deaths of five demonstrators and wounded ten others wounded on Friday in Mosul, northern Iraq while the security forces to disperse the demonstrators gathered, bringing to seven the number of dead among the protesters Friday in northern Iraq.

Thousands of protesters on Friday morning, the streets of Baghdad and major cities of the country on the day of anger to protest against poor public services, corruption and unemployment.

Said Lt. Sinan Jubouri said the wounded were shot and wounded after police fired shots into the air and the demonstrators were gathered outside the offices of the local governor in Mosul, 350 km north of Baghdad.

By another official in the police and a local dignitary as the deaths of at least two protesters and wounding twenty other were injured, including seven policemen on Friday in clashes between protesters and security forces in Hawija (60 km) north of Baghdad.

He called on Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki Thursday not to participate in the demonstration organized by several associations through Facebook in protest against the inefficiency of the government, accusing organizers of being supporters of Saddam Hussein as "terrorists."

This brings to 11 the number of demonstrators who were killed during the protest movement that are shaking the Iraq several weeks ago as several Arab countries, as policeman was also killed.
