France agree to freeze the assets of Mubarak and his family

Announced the French Foreign Ministry spokesman Bernard Valero said France received a formal request from the Egyptian authorities freeze the assets and accounts and property of former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and his wife and his two sons and their wives.


Valero said that according to Article 55 of the Treaty of the United Nations and in line with her comments earlier have asked Michele Alliot-Marie Minister of the French Foreign Ministry to be the transfer request immediately to the competent authorities to send a positive response to the request. The Valero said that France should also coordinate with its European partners in order to Respond to the request of the Egyptian authorities. Valero did not refer to any information regarding the amount of money of the family of Mubarak in France and by the competent organs already under surveillance in the wake of the revolution on January 25.
And confirmed that Christine Lagarde, Finance Minister and the French Economy France's commitment to refund the stolen money and stressed that France was ready to respond to any requests to the Egyptian authorities and the Egyptian judiciary regarding the freezing of funds and property of the Egyptian officials. It is known that Switzerland has initiated automatically freeze the assets of former President and his family immediately after the announcement, giving up the post of President of the Republic.
